Survey for Early Career Librarians

Are you an Early Career Librarian? Have you received your MLS or MLIS within the last 5 years?

If so, you are being invited to participate in a brief survey.

The purpose of this national study is to determine the experience of early-career librarians with professional associations. Specifically, are you attending conferences and meetings, serving on professional committees, participating in formal mentoring programs, and ultimately finding the kinds of opportunities you expected as you began your career? If not, which factors discourage you from pursuing participation in professional activities?

The results of this research will be presented at the upcoming 2009 ALA annual meeting in Chicago and potentially submitted for future publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Please take five minutes to complete the brief online survey that can be accessed at the following URL: http://jmu.qualtrics.com/SE?SID=SV_a3PXI212qcHJgoY&SVID=Prod

Please complete this survey by June 22,2009.Thank you in advance for your willingness to complete the survey! Please feel free to share with your early career librarian colleagues.

With appreciation,
Stefanie E. Warlick
James Madison University

Survey note said it is active until June 22; maybe contact Stephanie Warlick at James Madison U. for more information--perhaps she took it down early?
