SAVE THE DATE!
Make
plans now to join your colleagues around the state for Kentucky’s only
conference dedicated to information literacy - the 6th annual KLA
Library Instruction Round
Table (LIRT) Retreat!
When: Friday, July 21
Where: The J. Douglas Gay Jr./Frances Carrick Thomas Library and the Cowgill Center on the campus of Transylvania University
Who: You!
The
2017 KLA LIRT Retreat is a one-day event that brings together
librarians from around the state to share successful projects,
collaborations, and pedagogies that
have shaped information literacy at your institutions. It also provides
some much-needed time and space to reconnect with colleagues and
recharge your information literacy battery before the academic year
begins. Registration will open to LIRT members first
followed by KLA members, and if spots remain, they will be opened to
non-members.
Newly-instituted
for the 2016 LIRT Retreat, there will continue to be a registration fee
for the retreat to continue this Retreat for years to come. LIRT
members will
enjoy lower registration fees and priority registration, so now would be
a great time to become a LIRT member if you aren’t already! (To become a
member of LIRT, please send a check for $6.00 for LIRT annual dues to
KLA to add the Library Instruction Round
Table to your KLA membership.)
More details about the retreat, including a call for proposals, are coming soon. Please follow along at the KLA
LIRT Retreat Site for updates. For now, please save the date for this popular event. We look forward to seeing you there!
If you have any questions about the retreat or other LIRT initiatives, feel free to
use this form to contact the LIRT officers.
